Louvers, Sun Shades and Grilles

FEMA rated louvers exceed the requirements for HVHZ Level “E” rated louver units commonly used in Florida and other coastal locales due to the higher impact testing required as well as higher static and dynamic testing. Based on a 250 MPH wind speed level, the units are designed for improved survivability of Shelters, Emergency Operation Centers, Hospital Facilities, Fire, Police and other critical facilities.

On a different note, extended lead times for select anodized finishes has highlighted their increasing cost, as these processes are based on combination of electric and chemical conversion on the base aluminum extrusions, and difference in finish warranties offered.

AWV introduced a few years back their Luxe Anodize Kynar finish matches which give the look of Clear and select Color Anodized finishes. Offering the look is only part of the story as they also offer an extended, 20-year finish warranty compared to the standard 5-year finish warranty offered for anodized finishes. In addition, the Luxe Anodize Kynar finish option meets the current AAMA 2605 standard.

The finish is suitable for coastal and inland applications for just about any condition, and the recommended maintenance mirrors that for Anodized and Kynar finishes.
